Sol Tryon - "The Living Wake", Director/producer

In 1998 Sol Tryon received his Associates of Arts Degree from the International Film and TV Workshops in Rockport, Maine. Tryon moved to New York City after he finished his degree and learned the exciting realm of independent film making from the ground up. He met Shirin Neshat in 2000 and traveled around the world with her, helping bring her video installations and artwork to life.

He produced his first narrative feature film, “Bomb the System”, in 2002 which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2003 and earned a Spirit Award nomination for Best First Feature. In early 2007 Tryon began work on two projects, “Weapons” (Executive Producer) and “The Living Wake” (Director and Producer). While working on these two projects, Tryon began work with Mangusta Productions to develop and produce short multi-channel art films as well as feature films. “Weapons” premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival and “The Living Wake”, which won the Audience Award for Narrative Feature at WFF, first premiered at CineVegas in June 2007. Tryon now lives in Brooklyn with his wife Rebecca.
