Annie Sundberg:
Annie Sundberg is a documentary and narrative filmmaker and writer. She developed and produced the independent feature film THE TRIALS OF DARYL HUNT, a documentary about a brutal rape/murder case and a wrongly convicted man, Darryl Hunt, who spent nearly twenty years in prison for a crime he did not commit. The film won the audience award at the Full Frame Film Festival and won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2006.
THE DEVIL CAME ON HORSEBACK, her latest film (co-produced and directed with Rickie Stern), is a documentary that exposes the genocide raging in Darfur, Sudan as seen through the eyes of a former U.S. marine who returns home to make the story public. At this year's Full Frame Festival, DEVIL picked up two awards, the Working Films Award, which honors a film "with the greatest potential for supporting serious grassroots organizing and social change" and shared the Seeds of War prize for "filmmakers who lay bare the seeds and mechanisms that create war". She is a graduate of Dartmouth College, where she earned a BA in English Literature.
