| New, Interactive Website Will Involve the Audience in Every Aspect of Production

| New York City, June 18th, 2008 - Today, IndiePix, the leading online distributor of independent film, and Glens Falls filmmaker John W. Yost announce the beginning of production on his new feature film, a family drama called "The Brave and the Kind". The film, coproduced by IndiePix and NameInUse Productions, will be distributed in an interactive way, allowing fans and audiences to witness the process from start to finish on the filmmaker's Web site, www.thebraveandthekind.com.
|
| |
| "Not only is the website a great place to spotlight the filmmaking process, it's also a source for the audience to collect insight into the characters and their real-life behaviors," said Mr. Yost. "The film's website will supplement and enrich the audience experience as only a back story can."
|
| |
| Mr. Yost has partnered with IndiePix to orchestrate an extensive online outreach for the film. Through a system of interactive blogs, videos, photo diaries, behind-the-scenes footage and creative contests, interested fans will be able to get a regular, first-hand account of the production process. The film's producers believe this approach will help give filmgoers and fans unprecedented access to a unique experience.

| |
| "The internet is a powerful tool we're using to bridge the gap between artist and audience. And the evolution of an independent film from screenplay to set to editing room to your living room is a fascinating process," commented Jason Tyrrell, an IndiePix Acquisitions Manager. "IndiePix is passionate about helping talented filmmakers like John Yost find their audience, and helping indie film fans find outstanding creative content."
|
| |
| Mr. Yost's first feature film, "Every Good Thing to Rust," was released in 2007 directly to Download, in an attempt to break down these same barriers and put the film right in the audience's hands. This newest feature, slated for submission to film festivals in late 2008, is a semi-autobiographical drama chronicling Yost and his young wife's life in the same upstate New York town where he grew up. It grapples with what happens when unexpected change rocks the status quo complacency of middle-class living, and takes an intimate look at Yost's endless pursuit of meaning through art, family, friendship and an ever-increasing flow of alcohol.
