A documentary about one of the most singular French artists and the Parisian neighborhood he helped make famous, TOULOUSE-LAUTREC AND MONTMARTRE uses many techniques of the traditional historical documentary. Through images of Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings, archival photographs, and interviews with art scholars, the documentary examines the artist's obsession with the bohemian neighborhood and its inhabitants, many of whom became minor celebrities due to his work.
