Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War
(DVD)
DIRECTED BY - Robert Greenwald
Director Robert Greenwald uses news coverage and other footage to compile a portrait of the Bush administration as it prepared for and promoted the Iraq war. Highlighting the glaring inconsistencies in the statements made by politicians and spokespeople in support of the war, Greenwald works to illustrate the ulterior motives that may have given the war effort its true momentum. Many of the country's most seasoned civil servants shed some light on the question of prewar intelligence, particulalrly as it regards Iraq's exaggerated WMD program. Veteran CIA analysts, military officers, diplomats, politicians, arms inspectors, and U.S. officials all speak to the myth of a clear and present danger. Ultimately, what Greenwald uncovers is the willful orchestration of an elaborate ruse. Greenwald subsequently made UNCOVERED: THE WAR ON IRAQ, a feature-length documentary that was released in theaters.
