Director's Statement:

Dust of the Earth was a real challenge both conceptually and artistically. How does one create a film about consciousness?!? The film was definitely a process and dramatically evolved throughout the entire production, not really showing its true character until the final stages of editing. I learned a lot throughout the production not only about the technicalities of filmmaking, but about teamwork, the relationship a film has to its audience, and most of all about myself and the kind of filmmaker I would like to be. So far DUST OF THE EARTH has been well received by its audiences, invoking much interest and debate. It won Best Documentary at the FirstGlance Philadelphia Film Festival and Best Canadian Student Mid-Length Film at the Calgary Fringe Film Festival.
