Nicolas Engel Compilation
Nicolas Engel and IndiePix are proud to bring together the acclaimed director's three short films in a collection which showcases the finest in new wave french cinema.
La Copie de Coralie (Coralie's Copy) Mr. Conform, owner of the photocopy shop Conform Copy, lives with the memory of a woman who vanished thirty years ago. Virginie, his assistant, takes things into her own hands and puts up posters of the missing woman throughout town. As the film grows in intensity, spoken word moves into musical verse as the film blurs the line between the real and the imaginary. This charming and original film premiered at Cannes' International Critics and went on to garner raves at dozens of international festivals.
|The Les Voiliers du Luxembourg (Sailboats of Luxembourg) is a story of the everyday made extraordinary. A short musical by director Nicolas Engel, the film lovingly portrays the chance encounter of two lost souls on a beautiful day in a Parisian Park. Lui is a hopeless romantic and Edith is a dedicated single mother, though somehow, they find the spark that could lead to so much more. But with Lui headed abroad, time may be running out for their affair in this playful film which illustrates just how fragile the best things in life can be.|
