My Father The Genius

Director Lucia Small takes a look at her estranged father Glen Small, Futurist architect and self-proclaimed visionary, in MY FATHER THE GENIUS. Once a member of the famed Southern California Institute of Architecture, Glen Small is, at age 61, barely able to make ends meet. And while many of his colleagues have gone onto careers of great renown, many of Small's most far-sighted projects have never been built. His personal life, too, has paid the cost (so far: three wives, two girlfriends). In this documentary, Lucia Small not only examines her contentious father's work, but also the perils of family life in the face of driving artistic ambition.
