The ability to go flick a switch and have instant light, a fridge that keeps your food cold, tv! All these creature comforts we take for granted. All have in common one thing... power. For better or worse, city life is wedded to the Grid. This collection of films looks at the ideas of how important (or unimportant) power and light are to modern society.
City Unplugged is a fast-paced action flick about a plot to throw an entire city into darkness. Off the Grid documents what life is like for an eccentric desert community that chooses to live without having to rely on public utilities. Every Good Thing To Rust envisions how quickly society would degenerate if all our technologies failed us. And finally, Meridiem is a neo-noir short that plays with the archetypes of a classic detective story who has to choose between his dame and solving the case that could plunge the world into darkness.
